Conference on Plastic Waste Management and Recycling ‘Value Creation from Waste’

The conference focused on the current scenario of plastic waste management and its challenges. Several experts shared their best recycling practices, challenges, issues and strategy adopted in framing their plastics waste management initiatives. Discussions on adopting updated recycling technology was discussed extensively. Most experts voiced their agreement on creating a circular economy. The implementation and practice of EPR was discussed as well. The role of governing bodies in supporting companies to implement the rules were brought to the table.

IBHA participated in the second panel discussion titled ‘Solutions to MLP issues at each stage of Value Chain’. The topics ranged from creating a circular economy with mono polymer packaging to BIS standards to UN’s initiative with Government of India to brands initiatives. IBHA President Mr. Dinesh Dayal spoke at the panel on ‘How are Brands Handling Recycling’. Mr. Dayal elaborated on IBHA PWM Project- the ethos behind it along with the processes.
